Wellington City, Willis St Chapel
Our city chapel is at 306 Willis Street, on the corner, with a second way in from Aro Street.
It seats 110, with room for another 50 people standing in the lounge next door. There’s parking onsite for 21 cars, and we hold spaces near the door for immediate family. Step-free access from the carpark, and ramps where you need them.
Most families want to see the room before they decide anything.
Call (04) 385 0745 any time and we’ll meet you there.
Willis Street Chapel features
- Seating: 110 in the chapel, with a large lounge adjoining it and room for another 50 people standing.
- Screens and sound: Several high-definition screens, with photographs, video and audio all run through one system. Speakers are built into the chapel, the lounge, the reflection rooms and outside, so people who end up standing out the door still hear the whole service. There are lecterns and microphones to suit whoever is speaking.
- Livestreaming: Three cameras, built in, at different angles. Family who can’t travel see the service properly rather than one fixed wide shot. The link is private, and the recording is yours afterwards.
- Rooms: A reception area of its own, separate from the main lounge. Two smaller reflection lounges, for anyone who needs a few minutes away from the room. A catering kitchen off the main lounge, so afternoon tea happens right where everyone already is.
- Accessibility: Step-free access and ramps from the carpark, an accessible bathroom, and mobility parking we can reserve for you.
- Pets: We welcome your pets.
